Fabulously Five

Happy Birthday, Cubby!  How can you be five years old already?  All in all, this has been a fairly quiet year for you, although we did fit in some new experiences here and there.  You added two new states bringing the total to 13, with 28 total flights now.  Last September you had your second surgery which you pulled right out of with no problem at all.
We had a great time in Northern Arizona last fall, didn't we?  It's nice that Daddy can finally start joining in some of these little ventures; it makes it so much more enjoyable!  Milwaukee was awesome too as we met up with the Irish Rovers again and you got your usual snuggles from George.  I think that was probably the coldest weather you had ever seen thus far ...
... unless it was these past two weeks in Montana.  It snowed several of the days we were there, with the most snow the day we left.  At first I thought we had finally found something that really impressed you but, after being in it for five or ten minutes, I don't think you found it all that exciting.  Maybe you were excited only because I was?
You've seen a Great Dane or two in your time, but never one quite like Disney!  And everyone thinks you're a big dog?
Well gee, Cubby, there's nothing more to write about that I haven't already spelled out in previous posts, except let me tell you again and again how much I love you and appreciate you.  Thank you for yet another year of bracing, retrieving, catching, and guiding.  You've saved me from injuries countless times, and all with grace and dedication to your job.  You're amazing, my little Golden Boy!  Happy Birthday!
Thank You, Lord, for this wonderful gift in my life.  Help me to keep him sound in mind and body, and to make him safe and happy.  Amen.
