Dear Cubby,
2015 is well underway and, as was the case with Sophie, I
find I relied too much on facebook to share memories and ignored my blogging.
There wasn't much time for it anyway, though; 2014 was the
kind of year I'd never care to repeat. My
mother passed away, then my brother, my cat, Sophie, and two cousins ... oh my
goodness, it was a rough one! But you
held me together through all of it, Cubby.
If it hadn't been for you, I most likely would've spiraled down into the
pits of depression. But you needed me
and I had to be there for you, and that's what kept me moving right along. I've always recognized you as a gift from
God, and He has used you to help me in ways you'll never know.
In Happy Tails Service Dogs, you had a year of intense
training for the career you were born for.
In the classroom, we made many new friends and played wonderful games of
sit, down, look, under, leave it, brace, wait, and stay. Over and over and over again, week after week
after week. Aside from leave it, you
excelled way past what I expected! Of
course there were times your puppiness got the better of you, but that dwindled
a bit as you matured.
Then our class went out to malls, restaurants, and even
Cabela's. Your eyes just sparkled as you
took in all the new amazing experiences!
Oh, sweetie, you've only begun!
You haven't a clue what awaits on the other side of that public access
test!
Around home, you've gotten into your share of mischief. At least you're past the destructive stage
with everything except your toys.
Honestly, Cubby, I can shell out ten bucks for a toy and you can destroy
it in ten minutes. If we had a dime for
every new tennis ball we've had to buy, we could buy a pizza. You have had a lot of fun with interactive
games, so we play with them a lot! And
then it's back outside to play ball again.
Happy New Year, little Cubbs! I'll try extra hard to blog about our coming
year together, for certainly it'll hold excitement and adventure, and maybe
even a surprise or two.
I love you, baby.

Thanks so much for sharing- I love the photos and the update. Take care- best to you and Cubby in 2015.
